Haynsworth Sinkler Boyd’s Philip Land Receives Master of Laws in Taxation

Haynsworth Sinkler Boyd is pleased to announce that Philip Land, an attorney in the Greenville office, has graduated from Georgetown University Law Center with a Master of Laws in Taxation (Executive LL.M.).
Philip is a business lawyer whose clients include company owners, real estate developers, investment funds and international businesses. He represents clients in mergers and acquisitions, general corporate matters and economic development transactions involving public-private partnerships.
The tax degree focuses on a comprehensive understanding of corporate, international and partnership taxation. Philip’s independent research included in-depth study of Opportunity Zones.
“Nearly every transaction has tax implications. Georgetown’s tax program expands my ability to address tax issues, ultimately to the benefit of businesses and developers navigating complicated deals,” said Philip.
Philip earned his J.D. from the University of South Carolina School of Law and B.A. from Hampden-Sydney College. He is recognized as a 2021 Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch for Business Organizations (including LLCs and Partnerships), Corporate Law and Mergers & Acquisitions Law. Philip is also currently named as one of Greenville Business Magazine’s "Legal Elite of the Upstate" for Business Litigation, International Law, Corporate Law, Mergers & Acquisitions and Government Law.
