Chris Major, a litigator, is skilled at solving business problems.
He is adept at resolving a wide range of issues—from the most complex commercial litigation to the most common contract disputes with vendors and suppliers.
A Greenville native, Mr. Major represents clients in state and federal courts throughout the Carolinas, as well as in arbitration hearings before the American Arbitration Association and the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (formerly National Association of Securities Dealers).
He regularly represents clients in the transportation industry—from automobile manufacturers to trucking companies.
RECENT MATTERS
- Mr. Major obtained summary judgment on behalf of a German auto manufacturer arising from the development of a state-of-the-art automotive research campus.
- He obtained dismissal of a premises-liability case against Hooters of America, Inc.
- He obtained dismissal of a patent infringement action on behalf of an international advertising company relating to a high profile tennis exhibition between the winners of Wimbledon and the French Open held in Majorca, Spain in 2007.

Mr. Major served as a law clerk to The Honorable G. Ross Anderson, Jr., U.S. District Judge for the District of South Carolina, and practiced law in Charlotte, North Carolina prior to joining the Firm.
Mr. Major is very active in the South Carolina Bar. He serves on the Unauthorized Practice of Law Committee and the HELP Task Force, which is tasked with educating lawyers and judges about substance abuse and mental health issues in the legal profession. He is also a past chair of the Bar's Law Student Liaison Committee.
