Jay Matthews helps many types of businesses, particularly technology companies. He has a strong background in cases involving the transportation, construction and telecommunications industries.
Mr. Matthews also has a wealth of experience in complex business and technology-related disputes. He helps clients in litigation involving business torts, products liability, intellectual property and fiduciary law.
He is skilled in the important area of E-discovery, assisting businesses in producing and managing electronically stored information. Mr. Matthews has given presentations to corporations, universities and nonprofit organizations on E-discovery and is a member of the Sedona Conference Working Group.
RECENT MATTERS
- Mr. Matthews obtained summary judgment on behalf of a German auto manufacturer in a business dispute involving Clemson University's research campus (CU-ICAR) in Greenville.
- He successfully defended a manufacturer in a trial between the two largest competitors in a global market.
Having served in the Air Force as an engineer, managing deployments and construction projects in Bosnia and Saudi Arabia, Mr. Matthews was featured in a June, 2010, SC Biz magazine article titled, “Making a second career of the law.”
