He has closed more than 1,000 transactions and financings for projects ranging from retail shopping centers to industrial facilities. Throughout 25 years of practice, he has become known for designing transactions that satisfy his clients’ business and financial concerns.
His reputation extends well beyond South Carolina. He advises multi-national companies and investors on environmental, leasing and property-acquisition issues in numerous states and foreign countries.
RECENT MATTERS
- Mr. Williamson assisted a worldwide corporation in dealing with problems at an environmentally challenged manufacturing facility, including environmental, land-use and financing issues.
- He assisted a national bank in securing numerous sites, many of which involved lease, purchase, land-use and environmental issues.
- He helped a national agricultural-based corporation secure new financing and, ultimately, with the sale of its assets.
Mr. Williamson is a frequent speaker at the South Carolina Bar and trade groups on real estate topics and related financing issues.
He is very active in the Columbia community, engaged in a range of community, religious and civic organizations.
He serves on Still Hopes Retirement Home’s board of directors, where he is vice-chair.
He chairs the board of trustees for the Congaree Land Trust.
He is a former member of the board of trustees for the University of the South.
