Foster Girard practices business law in the Firm’s Columbia office, concentrating on corporate finance and commercial transactions.
His practice includes drafting and negotiating financing documents and commercial contracts, including those arising under Article 2 of the Uniform Commercial Code, as well as advising and assisting limited liability companies, corporations and other business associations in finding practical legal solutions that achieve their business objectives. He also advises clients on general corporate matters, including choice of entity, entity formation, and governance documents.
Mr. Girard earned his J.D., from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 2009. He was a member of the Order of the Coif, Order of the Wig and Robe, and was consistently included on the Dean’s List. In 2006, he received his B.S., in Business Administration from The Citadel where he was on the President’s List, Dean’s List, Commandant’s List and received the coveted Mark W. Clark Honor Committee Award.
A native of Simpsonville, South Carolina, he excelled in leadership at The Citadel where he served as Company Commander (2005-2006), Company First Sergeant (2004-2005), and also as an aide to the school president in 2003.
Prior to joining Haynsworth Sinkler Boyd in 2010, Mr. Girard served as a law clerk for the Firm for several years.
