Ms. Clemmons defends healthcare providers in litigation and advises hospitals on organizational and governance matters.

She has defended healthcare institutions in a broad spectrum of cases, including complex medical malpractice matters, as well as emotionally charged cases involving allegations of professional misconduct.

In addition to handling litigation, Ms. Clemmons advises on hospital medical staff and disciplinary issues including fair-hearing procedures.  She also has assisted hospitals with drafting medical staff by-laws and polices.

Just as the matters Ms. Clemmons handles are diverse, so are her clients.  They include the Greenville Hospital System, community hospitals, physicians and specialty line professional-liability insurance carriers.

EXPERIENCE

• Ms. Clemmons assisted in the defense of a surgeon in the trial of a case of alleged medical malpractice.
• She assisted in defending a large hospital system in two premises liability cases.

Prior to law school, Ms. Clemmons was a paralegal at Arnold & Porter in Washington, D.C.

Ms. Clemmons is active in the Greenville community. She is a member of the board of directors and former president for Pendleton Place Children’s Shelter (2009,2010), which was recognized by South Carolina Secretary of State Mark Hammond in November 2009 as an Angel nonprofit organization that exemplifies charitable giving in South Carolina. She also serves on the Young Benefactors Executive Committee for Furman University and also on the board of directors of Furman University Wesley Fellowship. Ms. Clemmons is a member of the Junior League of Greenville.
