Clark, Suddeth and Zeigler Receive 2015 Leadership in Law Award

March 23, 2015 - Haynsworth Sinkler Boyd attorneys Joseph D. (Joe) Clark, James H. (Jeddie) Suddeth III and Benjamin T. (Ben) Zeigler were honored with the South Carolina Lawyers Weekly Leadership in Law Award at an event held on March 21, 2015 at the Francis Marion Hotel in Charleston.

Joe Clark serves on the firm's management committee representing Haynsworth Sinkler Boyd's Columbia office. His practice focuses on assisting corporations and businesses raise equity capital, drafting and reviewing commercial contracts, advice on corporate governance, and assistance with the purchase and sale of business assets.

Joe was named the Best Lawyers' 2015 Columbia, SC Corporate Law "Lawyer of the Year" and recognized in The Best Lawyers in America for Corporate Law and Securities/Captial Markets Law. He also serves as an Adjunct Professor at the University of South Carolina School of Law.

Based out of the firm's Charleston office, Jeddie Suddeth is also a member of Haynsworth Sinkler Boyd's management committee. His corporate law practice includes representing property owners, tenents and their lenders in various types of commercial real estate transactions. In addition, he advises a number of clients with respect to business formation, ongoing corporate legal matters and captive insurance needs.

Recognized for his professional and civic achievements, Jeddie is listed in The Best Lawyers in America for Real Estate Law, named to the Charleston Regional Business Journal's "Forty Under 40" and a recipient of the University of South Carolina School of Law Alumni Foundation's "Compleat Lawyer Silver Award."

Ben Zeigler has wide experience in all areas of public finance, both tax-exempt and taxable bonds, and in economic development and incentive transactions. He is listed in The Best Lawyers in America for Economic Development Law and is a graduate of Liberty Fellowship, Class of 2007.

A lifelong Florence resident, Ben's civic involvement demonstrates his commitment to his community. He serves or has served as a board member for McLeod Health, Florence County Progress, Pee Dee Land Trust, Francis Marion University Foundation, Florence Center for the Arts, Florence County Museum, Initiant Healthcare Collaborative, Belle W. Baruch Foundation and the Wright Foundation for Southern Art.
