The firm signed a 15-year lease for the full-floor space, and Colliers’ Reid Davis, Pete Harper and Cameron Yost represented the landlord in the transaction.
“This was a strategic move for both our people and our clients,” said Jeddie Suddeth, HSB Shareholder and member of the firm’s Management Committee. “The Cigar Factory offers a distinctive setting that reflects who we are as a firm while supporting how we work today. Its location, character, and quality made it a clear choice for our next chapter in Charleston. Interestingly, The Cigar Factory was constructed in 1881, six years before the founding of our firm. Both have withstood the test of time.”
Haynsworth Sinkler Boyd will occupy the former Garden & Gun headquarters, which has maintained a defining presence within the building for more than a decade. With the lease, the firm will become The Cigar Factory’s second-largest tenant, behind the Clemson University Design Center.
Located on East Bay Street overlooking Charleston Harbor, The Cigar Factory combines historic character with modern office functionality. The property was constructed in 1881, redeveloped in 2014, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980 and designated a National Historic Landmark in 2024.
